Cisco Meraki
Integration Guide

This integration connects Sine with Cisco Meraki's access control and camera systems, allowing visitor and access management data to work together across both platforms. Configuring this integration lets system integrators streamline visitor access workflows by linking Sine's visitor management capabilities with Cisco Meraki's infrastructure. This guide is intended for system integrators and IT administrators responsible for configuring and maintaining the connection between Sine and Cisco Meraki.
Overview
This integration connects Sine with Cisco Meraki to automatically provision and revoke guest Wi-Fi access for visitors. The integration is cloud-to-cloud and requires no on-premise infrastructure.
How It Works
Sine integrates with the Cisco Meraki Dashboard API to provision and revoke time-bound guest Wi-Fi credentials on your Meraki network as visitors check in and out.
Guest Wi-Fi Check-in
Visitors are provisioned a time-bound guest Wi-Fi credential on your selected Meraki network and SSID, giving them internet access for the duration of their visit without requiring manual credential setup.
Check-in Flow:
The visitor checks in via a SinePoint kiosk or the SinePro mobile app and provides their email address.
Sine calls the Cisco Meraki Dashboard API to provision a guest Wi-Fi user on the configured network and SSID, using the visitor's email address as the Wi-Fi username and a securely generated password.
Optionally, the Meraki platform sends the visitor an email containing their Wi-Fi credentials, allowing them to connect immediately upon arrival.
The visitor connects to the guest SSID using the provisioned username and password.
Check-out Flow:
The visitor checks out via Sine, or their pass is rejected or expires.
Sine calls the Cisco Meraki Dashboard API to remove the guest Wi-Fi user from the network, immediately revoking the credential so it can no longer be used to connect.
Requirements
Sine Requirements
- Email required at check-in: Configure the site to collect a visitor email address at check-in. This email address is used as the visitor's Meraki Wi-Fi username.
- Integration enablement: You need a suitable Sine subscription with the Cisco Meraki integration enabled. Additional fees may apply.
Cisco Meraki Requirements
- Meraki Dashboard account: You need an active Cisco Meraki Dashboard account with access to the organisation, network, and SSID you want to use for guest Wi-Fi.
- Meraki API key: You need a Meraki API key with access to the relevant organisation, generated from Organization > API & Webhooks > API keys and access in the Meraki Dashboard. Your network admin or IT team may need to generate this key.
- Guest SSID configured: You need a guest SSID configured in Meraki with an authentication mode that supports Meraki-managed (Meraki-hosted) auth users.

Meraki Dashboard Configuration
Generate a Meraki API key — Generate a Meraki API key by navigating to Organization > API & Webhooks > API keys and access. If you do not have access to this section, ask your network administrator or IT team to generate the key for you.
Configure the guest SSID — Ensure the guest SSID you intend to use is configured with a Meraki-hosted authentication mode. Splash screen settings, including the login page and session limits, are managed within the Meraki dashboard.
Note your organisation, network, and SSID — Identify the Meraki organisation, network, and SSID that visitors should connect to. You will need to select these values when configuring the integration in Sine.

General Setup
Admin permissions — Ensure you have Team or Site Admin permissions. These permissions are required to configure integrations.
Log in — Log in to the Sine admin dashboard.
Select site — Navigate to the Locations tab and click on the site you want to configure the integration for.
Add integration — In the Site menu, click Integrations. Click the Add integration button and select Cisco Meraki from the list of available integrations. If the integration does not appear in the list, contact support.
Name integration — Enter a name for the integration. You can use any name, but choose one that helps you identify the integration's purpose.
Connection
- Cloud to cloud: Sine connects to the vendor platform via a direct cloud-to-cloud API connection. No on-premise infrastructure is required.
Meraki Dashboard API Key — Enter your Meraki API Key. Leave the Base URL field set to the default (https://api.meraki.com/api/v1) unless your IT team uses a region-specific Meraki endpoint.
Test connection — Click Test connection to confirm that Sine can reach your Meraki account.
Create the integration — Once the connection test succeeds, click Create Integration. The integration is created and the Configuration section becomes available, where you select the organisation, network, and SSID that visitors should connect to.
Integration Settings
Meraki Configuration
Organization — Select the Meraki organisation that owns the network you want visitors to connect to.
Network — Select the network within that organisation. The list is filtered based on the organisation you selected.
SSID — Select the guest SSID that visitors should be granted access to. The list is filtered based on the network you selected.
- Email Wi-Fi credentials to visitor: When enabled, Meraki emails the visitor their Wi-Fi credentials on successful check-in. This email is sent directly by Meraki, not by Sine.
- Visitor types — Select which visitor types this integration applies to. Visitors matching these types are provisioned guest Wi-Fi access on check-in.
